Sound Background

Glass says an event can be made interesting by telling it in sequences to build suspense and questions. He says a big part of video production is purging bad clips to just leave better clips, and that making poorer work at first is ok. His point about getting rid of content and selecting the best of it stood out to me, I know I try to do that with taking photos and editing videos.

I chose to listen to Spooked: A Winter Walk Turns into a Terrifying Ordeal

The man leaves his cabin to go on a winter walk, encounters a carnivorous creature posing as a deer, and runs away.

He talks in a low voice and varies his talking speed for slower parts or more urgent parts, the eerie music changes to match the tone of the story and his voice, and the surround sound effects of snow crunching or pines rustling place the listener in his story.

The episode was interesting and worked because of his voice and storytelling. There could have been more sound effects though for immersion and suspense.
